Should we avoid domestic products due to resistance?

Resistance was often mentioned in reviews as a reason to choose between domestic and imported products. A few years ago, there was a post saying that they chose Nabota because they were worried about resistance after getting a domestic product, and that they got Xeomin because they said it had low risk of resistance.

The 2025 JMIR Dermatology review cited the poor response of cosmetic Botox as factors such as shorter injection intervals than 3 months, large cumulative doses and single doses, and reinforcing injections within 3 weeks. It is also explained that procedures that require a large amount of volume, such as those on the jaw muscles and body parts, can increase the risk.

The 2024 Life review reported that preparations without complex proteins may have a lower risk of antibody formation, but did not present studies directly comparing the preparations in cosmetic patients. In the review, a user who was introduced to Dysport as having no risk of resistance wrote that he later found out that Xeomin actually has no complex protein.
